The Dover Capital City Rotary

The CC Rotary donated 86 Shoeboxes for Soldiers and 1,500 sunscreen/insect repellant spray bottles as part of the Rotary District 7630’s project with USO Delaware. Monica Kulesa, project coordinator for Capital City Rotary presented the boxes to Roger Clavette, District Chair, during the Rotary District Golf Tournament that was held at Wild Quail Golf and Country Club, Wyoming, DE, Sept. 29, 2009.

They also donated $360 to Give A Kid A Chance Backpack Rally. John Kutzon, President, presented the check to Monica Kulesa, Rotary member and representative from Give A Kid A Chance, Aug., 2009

Monica donated 275 new backpacks to the Give a Kid a Chance Rally. The Rally, held on August 22 at the Calvary Community Center provided elementary school children with backpacks full of school supplies, a health and dental screenings, new shoes, a haircut and a meal.

Monica donated 48 embroidered polo shirts to Delaware Teen Challenge. Bob Carey, Executive Director, accepted the polos outside of their Men’s Center in Seaford, DE. August 20, 2009. Delaware Teen Challenge is a 4-month residential induction center, providing spiritual care for men with alcohol, drug and other life-controlling problems.

Community Outreach Projects (COPs)

Monica is the President of COPs, an organization of local businesses and non-profits who have partnered with elementary schools to meet the needs of children/families in Central Delaware. Some of this year's projects have included providing backpacks full of school supplies; winter coats, hats and gloves, and Christmas gifts to approximately 400 school-referred children.

International Association of Administrative Professionals

Monica is an Associate Member of the First State Chapter of the IAAP (International Association of Administrative Professionals). Covered in a variety of promotional products, Monica made a presentation on how our lives go through many changes to get us to who and where we are now. She also explained how promotional products have changed through new technology and use of the internet.


Coats for Community Children

The First State Chapter of the IAAP (International Association of Administrative Professionals) participated in the Coats for Community Children civic project organized by Community Outreach Projects (COPs). Susan Moore, FSC-IAAP member, arranged for her employer, Discover Financial Services, to donate $300. Accepting the check representing COPs were Dot Harper and Pastor John Bowman from the G-Team; Monica Kulesa from ESS - Geiger (who is also an Associate Member of FSC-IAAP). Also present from IAAP were Julie Brown, FSC President, Jean Bracken, Civic Projects Chair, and Susan Moore, member.

Monica portrayed the "diva" in the 2005 production of Four Tickets to Christmas at Calvary Assembly of God.

Adopt-A-Student

The First State Chapter (Dover) of the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) participated in the Adopt-a-Student program through Kent/Sussex Adopt-a-Family. Members adopted an elementary and a high school student and provided 502 school supply items and $100 in gift cards for shoes. God So Loved

Monica Kulesa performed in the 6 performances of the Easter production of God So Loved at Calvary Assembly of God, Dover, DE, April 7-10, 2004.


Rally For the Troops

In April 2003, Monica Kulesa of ESS-Geiger braves the rain and cold to honor America's military at the Dover Rally for the Troops.


American Red Cross
Secret Garden Tour

Monica Kulesa's garden was featured on the 2003 American Red Cross Garden Tour. N.Taylor Collins, local artist, painted a watercolor of her garden during the tour and 3 students from Caesar Rodney High School played the flute for visitors. The Garden Tour is an annual fundraiser for the local chapter of the American Red Cross of the Delmarva Penninsula. Monica has become a committee member for the event.

Monica was "arrested" and held prisoner to raise donations for the American Diabetes Association.

The "Circle of Friends" women's ministry from CalvaryAssembly of God held a Victorian Garden Party in Monica's garden.

Honorary Commander at
Dover Air Force Base

Honorary Commanders are local civic leaders selected to become involved in the activities of a particular squadron on Dover Air Force Base. In 2000, Ms. Kuleasa was selected by the Public Affairs Office and the 436 Services Squadron, which is dedicated to providing quality programs and activities to almost 5,500 active duty and reserve service members and nearly 4,500 family members. The appointments are usually for one year but Monica's term was renewed and she served from 2000 to 2002.
